Scart is a device that connects television to the other sources like digital boxes, VCR (video cassette recorder) and DVD players. It is an electrical system that interconnects the two devices having video-audio features. Systems are embedded in them that can support the system and are required to be strong enough to handle the system.
The devices have an interface of twenty-one pins which act as connector. This is called female interface along with which there is a plug called male plug too. The pin that is there on the 21st position is actually a ground contact shield and not pin in real terms. In both directions, the control signals, audio stereo and the video system are given. The only input is the video signals that are RGB.
Peritel, which is a company from France introduced Scart. The system came into existence long time back so these days all televisions are equipped with scart sockets. Televisions that were produced before and are still being used by people have been given an additional feature of being used with modulators. But all types of television, VCR’s etc being manufactured these days have all these kinds of features.
Full form of SCART is Syndicat francais des Constructeurs d’ Appareils Radio et Television. Another name for this connector is Euro-connector. Buying a quality cable is always beneficial to keep yourself away from any kind of risks. People knowing the procedure of making Scart lead and cables do try to build themselves but this should be avoided.
