Rechargeable batteries stay with you forever

The best thing about having rechargeable batteries is that they can be recharged easily and we need’t throw them away after its use. There are many different types of rechargeable batteries one can choose from. Basically the make of these batteries is different from each other or in other words their chemical composition is different from each other.
A Nickel Cadmium Battery (NiCd) was the first alkaline battery of its kind. The chemical composition is nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. Cadmium is a toxic substance therefore precaution must be taken while handling these batteries. Nickel-cadmium batteries are much preferred than the Nickel Metal hydride batteries.
A Nickel-Metal Hydride Battery (NiMH) was developed in the 1980’s. This kind of a battery has a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for the negative electrode as a substitute of cadmium. Lithium-ion Batteries are the choice in many consumer electronics and have one of the best energy-to-mass ratios and a very slow loss of charge when not in use. The reputation of Lithium-ion batteries has spread as their equipment continues to get better.
A Lithium sulfur battery is a little less common but it claims superior energy to weight than current lithium technologies in the market. Also lower material cost might help this product to reach the mass market. These batteries should not to be confused with lithium sulfur dioxide batteries which may explode when recharged. These are the different types of rechargeable batteries we can choose from but we must make sure that they suit the product we will be using it for.
