Generally the rechargeable ones are a part of the package and are lighter, smaller compared to regular batteries. This is one of the main reasons which attract many customers to go in for rechargeable batteries. The rechargeable batteries are classified into two subcategories including Nickel-metal Hydride (NIMH) ideal for digital cameras while Lithium Ion (LION) batteries are more popular since they are more compactly sized and increase resistance to “memory effect”; lose of maximum energy capacity when they are partly charged.
Rechargeable camera batteries are advisable for travelers since it saves a lot time from searching for camera batteries in foreign land. For those opting for non-rechargeable camera batteries, it is best to carry a spare set in case of emergency.
